ArKaos VJ is the dazzling fast software that will enable you to put out outstanding video shows in matter of seconds. Build a full performance using a few simple video loops from your hard drive by mixing and altering them using more than 100 real-time effects. It is a software-based visual synthesizer that runs on a normal PC or Mac, a tool for VJs or visual artists to create and control amazing live visual performances. On top of the 60+ original ArKaos effects, version 3.5 now supports additional FreeFrame effects; ArKaos VJ comes with 42 pre-loaded FreeFrame effects and you can get many more other effects from the FreeFrame web site! Each of the effects has changeable parameters, allowing infinite customization of each one. Version 3.5 now supports direct rendering to DV through FireWire. You can also connect all your favorite video sources (USB / FireWire (web)cams / video acquisition boards / …) and display them live through ArKaos VJ with or without an effect. ArKaos VJ DMX allows you to assign visuals, camera inputs, effect parameters, etc.. to the sliders and buttons of a DMX console and have full control over your visuals and effects from the console. DMX is an addressing & communication protocol that allows a centralized controller (such as a lighting console) to address from 1 to 512 dimmers individually. Those dimmers can be used to control lighting equipment, lasers, fog machines, other material,.. And now also ArKaos VJ. ArKaos VJ 3.5 DMX introduces different DMX control modes which will allow ArKaos to get the best out of your DMX controller. These modes are: Simple Control, Tiny Fixture and Full Fixture (see the DMX Control Modes page for more information). This implementation offers much more flexibility than most hardware media servers while lowering your costs since most recent low cost computers are capable of playing high quality video.
