SmartBackup ist eine preisgünstige, schnelle und einfach zu bedienende Backup Software für Windows 9x/NT/2000. Wie wichtig Sicherheitskopien sind, merken viele Anwender erst, wenn es zu spät ist und ihre Daten bereits verloren sind. Es ist aber auch nicht immer einfach, regelmäßig Sicherheitskopien der Festplatte zu machen, da dies sehr zeitaufwendig ist und leicht vergessen wird. Genau hier setzt SmartBackup an. Zum einen hilft es Ihnen nur die wirklich wichtigen Dateien für das Backup auszuwählen und hält so die Dauer für ein Backup niedrig. Zum anderen kann es selbständig Sicherheitskopien auf dem neuesten Stand halten und kopiert dabei nur Dateien, die sich im Vergleich zum letzten Backup auch geändert haben. Wenn Sie die Belegung einer normalen Festplatte untersuchen, sind meist nur 3 - 10% des Platzes durch Daten und Dokumente belegt. Die meisten vorhandenen Dateien sind Programm- oder Systemdateien, DLLs usw., die durch eine Neuinstallation leicht wiederbeschafft werden können. SmartBackup hilft Ihnen nur Ihre wirklich wichtigen Dateien zu finden und zu sichern und kann ein Backup automatisch einmal täglich beim Windows Start aktualisieren. Da immer nur geänderte Dateien kopiert werden, dauert dieses regelmäßige Backup nur Sekunden. Und Sie können trotzdem sicher sein, eine aktuelle Kopie aller wichtigen Daten zu haben.
