There are many well-optimized password recovery algorithms and implementations available today. While they can crack a simple or dictionary-based password in minutes, guessing a relatively strong password may take years. You can speed-up the process if your organization has enough funds to buy a million dollar supercomputer. Of course, normally, this is not feasible. From now on, there is an easy and cost-effective way to achieve the same results. Distributed Password Recovery, a revolutionary software solution from the well-known password recovery brand, ElcomSoft, utilizes distributed computing technology that allows you to build your very own virtual supercomputer. Modern office computers use only about 10% of their CPU cycles. By combining all the computers available in your organization into a next generation distributed computing network, you do not affect their normal office functioning. Instead, you utilize the 90% of CPU time that would otherwise be wasted. Distributed Password Recovery consists of a server and agent modules. The server module is installed on one of your computers and is used for computing coordination. The agent module is installed on all other PCs available. The link speed is not critical.
