There are many well-optimized password recovery algorithms and implementations available today. While they can crack a simple or dictionary-based password in minutes, guessing a relatively strong password may take years. You can speed-up the process if your organization has enough funds to buy a million dollar supercomputer. Of course, normally, this is not feasible.
