Das Program "Julian Day Converter" erlaubt die Umrechnung eines gregorianischen Datumwertes in das Julian Day oder Modified Julian Day Format und umgekehrt. Der Julian Day gibt die Anzahl der Tage seit dem 24. November -4713 an. Das Juliand Day Format taucht in sehr vielen astronomischen Berechnungen auf, es ist quasi so etwas wie ein Eckpfeiler, wenn man Berechnungen wie Auf- und Untergänge und dergleichen mehr anstellen will.Dieses Programm bietet eine einfache Möglichkeit, um schnell und bequem zwischen dem gregorianischen Datum und dem Julian Day Format umzurechnen. Ebenso ist es möglich ein Datum in einen Modified Julian Day Wert umzurechnen. Der Modified Julian Day gibt die Anzahl der Tage seit dem 17 November 1858 an udn wurde vom Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory 1957 vorgestellt.
